Mr. Will Qian

Will Qian, studied at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology from 2005 to 2009, where he received his Bachelor of Engineering degree. He received a Hong Kong Government Scholarship to study at the University of Hong Kong from 2009 to 2011, where he obtained his MPhil in Water and Environmental Engineering. He received funding from GIZ to complete “Low carbon city development” course in Cologne, Germany in 2013. He has been studying at Renmin University of China since 2020, specializing in Digital Economy and Financial Technology in the Master of National Economics. He received his training from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in 2023 and obtained a Senior Strategic Advisor in ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance).

He worked for China Emissions Exchange (Shenzhen) during 2011-2012 and was involved in carbon trading legislation, carbon trading system development, trading and settlement rules development. He worked for Jiangsu (Suzhou) Environmental Resources Exchange during 2013-2015 as the assistant general manager, leading the development of emission rights trading platform, trading rules development, industry symbiosis service platform development and operation, and carbon trading system construction research.

He founded Suzhou Mint Information Technology Co., Ltd. from 2015 to now. The company provides innovative solutions for government, development zones, State Grid, and corporate clients based on national environment, energy, and resource management policy foresight field discovery and information technology cutting-edge research. The company provides policy research, low-carbon consulting, ESG consulting, waste management and other consulting services on the one hand; on the other hand, it provides information technology solutions and data analysis services based on professional background.
